About Device Status
Each Device you are monitoring has a Device Status indicated by a traffic light in the Serio IT Service View Display.
A Green traffic light indicates no problems detected on the Device.
An Amber traffic light typically indicates a non-fatal problem, such as slow response or low disk space.
A Red traffic light typically indicates that the Device is down.
Where to Look for More Information if you See an Amber or Red Traffic Light
Depending on how you have set up your Responses for the Device, Serio IT Service View may send you an email when it detects a condition that changes the Device Status of a Device to Amber or Red.
You will also see a message in the 'Last Polling Message' or 'Last Trap Message' columns of the Serio IT Service View Display, indicating the problem that occurred.
Additionally, you will see a message in the Online Log.
Changing the Device Status back to Green
Most Plugins are configured by default to change the Device Status of Devices back to Green when Serio IT Service View detects that the problem is resolved.
However, you can normally edit the Device Properties of the Plugin so as to leave the Device Status at Amber or Red until you reset it manually to Green.
To change the Device Status of a Device back to Green, right click on the Device on the 'Device Status' tab page of the Display, and choose 'Reset Device'.
