just trying the software and it seems great. so is there a way to customize the e-mail message e.g. not only saying that the disk has low space but how low is that and what the threshold is?
What you need to do is take greater control of the Response Message. It sounds like you are using the Default, which is a bit bland.
You must be used to setting Devices Properties? This is where you tell ITSV what the limits are for each disc.
In there is a Property called 'Response Message'. Simple make this say something meaningful to you about the disc - what the disc stores, what the limits are and so on. This property is echoed back to you when the Response is tripped.
By default, it says
'A disc free space low condition has been observed by IT Service View. The details are as follows'
Make it say something like:
'Hey Carlos, someone has been filling up our main file server with Garbage again. It's a 100GB disc but there is only 2GB free left'.
Remember that if a computer has discs C:, D and E and each has different thresholds, you can set different properties for each. Just remember to click the New button.
