Confused about monitoring web application

OK, most of my windows servers are in service view and working well - thanks.

I have a web server that sometimes hangs up. Until I can figgure out why this happens I need to restart the thing when it stops. Am I supposed to monitor the status of the service? It seems to report itself as running even when it has stopped. I use the Windows 2003 plugin.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, but is still need the restart a service option you get in the Windows plugin?

Try the web site plugin

I think it would be better to use the web site Plugin whilst you work on your problem.

This will allow you to see if the server is still successfully delivering pages to your users, and doing it quickly enough to be useful.

If you don't have the web plugin shown, download the latest version.

URL monitoring

Please help me on the subject how to monitor a URL with the website monitoring plugin....everytime am geting timed out status for the URL.
